The Season 2 of Diablo 4 presented its players with a unique skill called Metamorphosis, which falls under the category of Vampiric Powers. This ability can transform your character into a colony of bats, making it capable of dealing upto 160% physical damage to its enemies along with afflicting a Vampiric Curse upon them. The Metamorphosis skill can be achieved by completing the “A Serpent Cornered” quest in the story, Season of Blood.

Even though you’re able to acquire the Diablo 4 Metamorphosis ability, it won’t work until you have the required armor pacts. These pacts are associated with the gear pieces that drop in Season 2 of Diablo 4. The pacts are categorized as Ferocity, Divinity, and Eternity.

• Talk to Ked Bardu in the Magistrate’s office.
• Then, you must travel to the City of the Ancients, the Darkened Way Northeast in Yelesna; it would already be marked on your map.
• You’ll meet the hunter named Erys along the way; with his help, you need to locate and kill the boss, Lord Zir.
• Clear the enemies that come your way till you reach the boss.
• Find and defeat the boss, Lord Zir.

Use aspects like Vigorous, Trickshot, Arrow Storms, Corruption, Encircling, and more.

The Final Battle

The final battle with Lord Zir won’t come easy; you must dodge all his attacks carefully, or else they may prove fatal. Lord Zir’s deadly attacks and how to tackle them:-

1. Wind Stream attack: This is an avoidable long-range attack. When you see a broad strip of light on the floor, simply run in a circle.

2. Hand or Scythe: When you are right in front of the boss, he will use a hand or scythe attack. Since the attack radius is very broad, it would be preferable if you stood behind Lord Zir.

3. Blood Seekers: The boss will occasionally spawn these enemies. If you don’t destroy them first, they will distract you and possibly even kill you.

4. Blood Pools: The most disruptive and hazardous Boss ability is Blood Pools. These pools shoot projectiles in all directions when they spawn. They will also poison you and make you move more slowly. Try to stay away from them.

Upon killing Lord Zir, you successfully complete the quest. You will also be able to access Diablo 4 Metamorphosis as a reward. It is necessary that you finish this quest because it is the only way you can obtain this Vampiric Power. You can use the item in dungeons like Black Asylum, Flooded Depths, Caldera Gate, and Anica’s claim.

Unlocking Diablo 4 Metamorphosis is worth the effort as it helps deal with the more challenging enemies in the Season of Blood with ease. The Metamorphosis effect lasts for 2 seconds at level 1 and upto 4 seconds at level 3. In this state, you also gain invincibility and have the ability to deal damage to any enemies you come into contact with. You can use strong builds of different classes like Sorceress, Necromancer, Druid werewolf, Druid, and more.
