Twitch is one of the largest streaming platforms in the world and is home to a vast variety of streamers. However, the Amazon-owned platform also has a very strict set of policies, and streamers can face severe consequences if they fail to adhere to them. There have been multiple instances where streamers have received Twitch bans, and while most of them are suspensions, there have been a few cases of permanently banned Twitch streamers as well.
There can be a variety of reasons why streamers receive Twitch bans. This ranges from posting sexual content to openly flouting other policies that the platform presents. Here are the top 10 Twitch streamers who received the ban hammer from the purple platform.
Top 10 Banned Twitch Streamers
Indiefoxx
Jenella Dagres, popularly known as Indiefoxx, is one of the most infamous streamers on Twitch. The 26-year-old American streamer is popular for her hot-tub streams, and has received six Twitch bans for pushing the platform’s policies against adult content.
Unknown to many, Indiefoxx started off her Twitch career with music. However, when that did not work well for her, she took to adult content. The streamer has been known for openly flouting Twitch’s policies, where she conducted several inappropriate ASMR streams, wrote subscriber names on her chest, and also flouted the platform’s wardrobe rules with her attire.
Indiefoxx’s sixth ban was the final straw with Twitch, as the platform stripped her of her partner status. So far, Twitch has remained firm on its decision despite Indiefoxx’s multiple appeals.
xQc
Felix ‘xQc’ Lengyel is one of the biggest Twitch streamers in the world. He has the largest viewership on the platform and is well known for his gameplay streams. However, even this Twitch giant was on the receiving end of the platform’s ban hammer multiple times.
xQc has received Twitch bans for multiple kinds of offenses. However, not all of those were intentional. For instance, the former Overwatch pro received his first Twitch ban back in 2019 when he accidentally clicked on a pornographic link live on stream. However, other times, xQc has been banned for good reasons like when he streamed the Olympics and got a DMCA strike. The Canadian streamer has received a total of five bans so far.
Pokimane
Pokimane is the most popular female streamer on Twitch and has seldom gotten into any trouble with the platform. However, in January 2022, Pokimane received her first-ever Twitch ban in light of a copyright strike. The Moroccan streamer was watching Avatar: The Last Airbender with her fans on her stream when she received the strike.
Although her ban was revoked in three days, it led to a huge controversy between the OTV star, JiDion, and Ninja shortly after she got unbanned from the platform.
JiDion
Twitch saw the rise of several streamers since 2021. One such streamer was JiDion, who was elevated to partner status on the platform. However, soon after Pokimane returned to Twitch following her ban, JiDion received his ban after allegedly harassing the OTV streamer.
On Pokimane’s return stream, Jidion sent his fans to spam ‘L+Ratio’ in her chat. However, the fans took it too far and ended up abusing the streamer and her fans, leading to Pokimane ending her stream early. This consequently resulted in JiDion receiving a 14-day suspension which eventually turned into a permanent ban. Although both streamers have moved past their issues, Twitch refuses to budge from its decision and revoke JiDion’s Twitch ban.
Dr. DisRespect
Dr. DisRespect is one of the most popular banned Twitch streamers in the world. His Twitch ban is still one of the most mysterious bans the platform has ever handed, and to date, fans do not know the reason behind the ban. Neither Dr. DisRespect nor Twitch has disclosed the circumstances leading to the permanent ban.
However, after his departure from Twitch, the Two-Time shifted to YouTube where he has built quite the kingdom for himself. The streamer has over 4 million subscribers on his channel where he regularly streams Call of Duty with the likes of TimTheTatman and DrLupo. Currently, he is working on his very own video game with his community, Midnight Society.
Amouranth
Kaitlyn “Amouranth” Siragusa is one of the faces who spearheaded the hot-tub meta on Twitch to popularity. She regularly toyed with Twitch’s policies and has naturally earned several Twitch bans over the years. The hot-tub streamer was one of the main points of discussion when the entire Twitch community was busy debating about the presence of the hot-tub meta on the purple platform.
Amouranth has received five Twitch bans so far, the latest one being in October 2021.
GreekGodX
In recent times, GreekGodX has become quite a popular name in the Twitch community, but for all the wrong reasons. The streamer has lately been going on a slew of random rants, which have resulted in him being labeled sexist and racist. However, apart from the impact on his social media presence, these rants also handed the streamer several Twitch bans, and he returned from his latest Twitch ban a few days ago.
GreekGodX has received four Twitch bans so far, but fans can expect more if he keeps up with the rants on Twitch live streams.
Alinity
Alinity’s Twitch ban was considered to be one of the most bizarre bans when it took place. The streamer received a Twitch ban back in 2020 when she had an accidental nip slip during a live stream. Although the streamer deleted the VOD shortly after, fans had already taken screenshots of the same and circulated them on social media. This resulted in the streamer getting banned on Twitch.
However, the streamer has previously done quite a few questionable things on live stream, wherein she allegedly threw her cat, leading to fans bringing the incident to the attention of PETA in light of animal abuse. Alinity still streams on Twitch regularly and has not had any ban incidents recently.
Hasanabi
Hasan “Hasanabi” Piker is one of the most popular political commentators on Twitch. Although he is originally a political commentator, he is also closely associated with the gaming community on Twitch and often streams with them. Earlier this year, Hasanabi got banned on Twitch for allegedly saying a racist word.
Hasanabi used the term “cracker” on live stream, which led to his subsequent ban since the term is deemed as a slur against white people. However, the streamer’s ban led to a huge debate within the streaming community where people discussed whether the term could actually be labeled a racial slur.
ZilianOP
ZilianOP’s Twitch ban was one of the most interesting bans in the history of the platform. Zilian was a Twitch streamer who shot to fame as a disabled person in a wheelchair with a huge passion for gaming. He would regularly get subscriptions and donations from his viewers for his live streams. However, fans were shocked when they saw the streamer get up from his wheelchair to grab something mid stream.
This resulted in fans feeling cheated and Zilian began receiving immense hate from the community, leading to his eventual Twitch ban. He has maintained a low profile ever since, but fans still debate about whether the streamer was actually faking his disability.
