Edge could be facing someone else instead of Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns after Royal Rumble win
WWE superstar Edge made an incredible comeback on this year’s Royal Rumble to go all the way and win the event.
And, he now has the luxury of choosing what champion he wants to have a go at next at WrestleMania 37.
The popular choices are, of course, Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns. The Chosen One is the WWE champion, while the Big Dog is the WWE Universal champion.
Nevertheless, there is also another option that Edge has hinted towards exploring. The Rated R superstar will appear on NXT this week.
Finn Balor is the NXT champion, and it could be possible that Edge goes up against him at WrestleMania 37.
He posted on his Twitter account that he is in Orlando to visit his wife, Beth Phoenix. But now, he says that he has plans to visit the NXT since he is in the vicinity.
Phoenix is one of the commentators on NXT but there could be something special brewing when Edge appears on the Black and Gold brand.
Could Edge avoid Roman Reigns and Drew Mcintyre to take on Finn Balor?
Balor even retweeted Edge’s tweet and this could mean that if not at WrestleMania, we could still get to see the two go face to face this week.
NXT has made massive strides in the past few years and this could be another big push for the Gold Brand.
However, it might be the most financially advisable decision by the promotion. A title fight against McIntyre or Reigns would definitely be better for business.
However, Edge going up against Balor could mean the step up that the latter needs to take another step in his highly successful NXT career so far.
It remains to be seen who Edge chooses to fight at WrestleMania, but knowing that one of the two would be The Rated R Superstar automatically adds a ton of excitement to the match.
