Star singer Bad Bunny is scheduled to perform at WWE Royal Rumble 2021

WWE announced this week that Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, better known by his stage name Bad Bunny is booked to perform at the Royal Rumble this weekend.

The PPV is scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 31st. The Spanish hit singer will be performing his song ‘Booker T’ at the show.

WWE put up a tweet announcing his presence at the event. The photo featured a quote from the artist himself, who described what it feels like fulfilling his childhood dream.

“Performing at the Royal Rumble is a childhood dream come true. I have been a lifelong fan of WWE and I’m excited to take the stage and entertain fans around the world.”

The song comes from his album El Ultimo Tour del Mundo, which debuted number 1 on US Billboards 200.

This will be his first big appearance at a sporting event since his performance at the Superbowl LIV half-time show.

Bad Bunny would add further star factor on this year’s Royal Rumble

He revealed earlier that he was inspired to write the song because he grew up watching Booker T as a kid. The video of his song also features the former WWE wrestler.

The two are seen driving around to unknown places, and it features a sample from King Booker’s ‘Can You Dig it Sucka?” entrance theme.

This isn’t the first time a musical act has been performed during a PPV. Triple H has seen many live acts during his entrances at WrestleMania.

The same goes for Snoop Dogg as he featured alongside Sasha Banks, his cousin, too.

This year’s Royal Rumble is going to be exciting, and Bunny’s added star factor would only make it better.

Goldberg and Drew McIntyre are scheduled to go head-to-head for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. Elsewhere, Roman Reigns will complete a trilogy of fights with Kevin Owens for the Universal title.

These two blockbuster matches supplement what could be a very exciting men’s and women’s Royal Rumble main event this year.

One big talking point was the return of Braun Strowman. The Monster destroyed several stars on SmackDown and could be one of the favourites to win the Rumble.
