Developed by NAT Games, Blue Archive is a new Gacha RPG game released on 4th February 2021. The game is based in the fantastical land called Kivotos, where you the player appear as a teacher or more commonly known as a Sensei at an academy in a sci-fi imaginary city called Schale.

What is Total Assault in Blue Archive?

Total Assault is the raid game feature of this game which is more commonly known as Total War or Total Assault where several other players or sensei compete together to battle with the raid boss and secure a higher score on the leaderboards. This feature can be unlocked by a sensei after they complete Mission 4 Act 1, after which the players receive 3 Total War Tickets to join this raid battle scenario. This game mode has 5 levels of varying difficulties and each level has a different amount of rewards and a specific time limit within which the players have to kill or defeat the boss. The players can play in teams to complete each level. A beginner’s guide to surviving the total assault mode is down below:

Steps to survive in the total assault mode

Character Tier

Blue Archive has different characters with different specialties hence character tier is very important in a battle royale. There are 4 tiers:- attacker tier, healer tier, support tier, and tank tier. 

For attacker type, S tier has characters such as Iori, Hibiki, Haruna, Hina, Aru, Karin, Shun, and Nonomi, these are in the top tier as they cause the most damage and next it goes down in a fashion of decreasing damage. Tier A has Shiroko, Midori, Akari, Momoi, Chise, Junko etc. in tier B characters Hasumi, Tsurugi, Neru, Sumire, Izumi and for tier C there is Mashiro, Mutsuki, Utaha, and the last tier consists of Yoshimi and Asuna.

Similarly, there are character tiers for healer, support, and tank tiers. 

Team Formation

It is important to create an effective team formation while playing the raid game mode. It is not possible to have all the best equipment or enough eleph to increase the rank of units. Tank and healers are very valuable for beginners.

It is better not to play on auto if you want to maximize the effectiveness of the unit. For beginners some advice for piercing options for Binah: 

  • Iori/Junko
  • Maki/Hasumi
  • Pina
  • Akane (Defense debuff)/ Hoshino (Tank)
  • Hibik/ Karin (DPS)/ serina (Healer)
  • Kotama (Attacker buffer)
