Boston Celtics Interim Coach Joe Mazzulla might not be an animated character like Gregg Popovich, Steve Kerr, or Tyronn Lue yet there is no denying that he is an incredibly savage and funny human being. From unknowingly trolling Prince Charles and Kate to savagely dissing Marcus Smart, it seems like Mazzulla is clearly one step ahead of everyone.
Having led the Boston Celtics to the best record in the league in the 2022-23 NBA Season, Mazzulla is surely happy but unlike other coaches, he is not willing to show it but his gestures speak a million words. This time it was the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, Marcus Smart on the receiving end.
Smart suffered a scary ankle injury. Although things aren’t too bad for the Celtics marquee yet he is not ready to return on the NBA hardwood. While many might sympathize with him, Joe is clearly is no mood to let go of all the laughter he can get at Smart’s expense.
Joe Mazzulla trolls Marcus Smart
As per Adam Himmelsbach, “Joe Mazzulla just walked past Marcus Smart in the locker room, did a full somersault in front of him, turned, and said ‘you can’t do that.’ Then walked out. Asked Smart if this was some kind of inside joke. He said he had no idea where it came from and what it was about lol. ‘We need to stop giving him sugar.’”
That is some dark humor from Joe aimed at the injured Smart, who had no idea where it came from. Smart does perform backflips at times, so this might just be Mazzulla’s way of trolling him. Safe to say, Mazzulla could well be one of the funniest coaches in the league.
