The heart-wrenching incident went down on Tuesday evening, right before Miami Heat’s home game against the Boston Celtics.

A young Heat fan was captured on camera holding a sign that read “Dear Jimmy: We flew over 4405 miles to see you play. Can we get a photo or a big face coffee? ;)” The fan was also spotted having an Argentinian flag along with him.

However, the young boy’s dream of seeing Jimmy Butler play was soon crushed.

Just before tip-off, Butler was ruled out of the game with back soreness, leaving the fan disappointed.

The whole exchange was captured on TNT.

As per AP’s Tim Reynolds, the fan got “a trip to the court, a jersey, a ball [and] a memory.”

Miami Heat overcomes the Boston Celtics challenge

Jimmy Butler’s absence was a little concerning for the Heat as they played against the Boston Celtics, who are the number 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Nevertheless, Miami fared well against the Celtics and secured a huge win. Heat won 98 – 95 against Celtics.

Heat’s Center, Bam Adebayo scored a massive 30 points, and 15 rebounds to help Miami grab the dub.

Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum of Celtics scored 31 points and 14 rebounds which was clearly not enough to win the game.
