There are tons of gear items in Baldur’s Gate 3. You have to play quests and complete boss battles. Some gear sets are only available from Act 2. Here are the best and most powerful gear items to use in BG 3 right now,

Helldusk Armor

This is the most powerful armor set in the game. Helldusk is a heavy armor set. You can get this by completing the Escape the Deal quest. The other way is to get it as a drop from Raphael. Helldusk Armor provides three major actions. 

The Armor ensures you are fully proficient during combat. Infernal Retribution gives you the burning effect for 3 turns once you successfully use a Saving Throw.  Prime Aegis of Fire, This effect ensures you are resistant to fire damage and your receiving damage will be negated. 

Once this equipment is activated, you will not be burned. This is the best way to counter against fire spells and attacks. Overall, this is a legendary gear item that provides both offensive and defensive abilities.

Spellcrux Amulet

A very rare Amulet that’s dropped on the warden. Spellcrux Amulet is earned from the Warden’s body in the prison of Moonrise Towers. This Amulet allows spellcasters to retrieve a single spell slot per combat. Spell Slot Restoration can be unlocked with this gear set. 

Amulets are rare and hard to find, this one is an incredible piece of equipment that works well against all enemies and you can use them in all acts as well.

Dark Justiciar Helmet

This is a very rare helmet that you can find in Gauntlet of Shar after completing the Find Ketheric Thorm’s relic quest. This Armor was used and worn by Shar worshippers earlier during the ancient times. The Armor uses a medium armor proficiency slot. It also provides two features.

Magical Durability can be used to unlock a +1 bonus to saving throws against all spells. Use Covert Critical to hide yourself and this will reduce your critical hit roll count while attacking. This Helmet uses Constitution as a Saving Throw and it will be increased by +1 every time.

Ketheric’s Shield

Shields will help you avoid destruction against enemies. This rare shield can be picked up as a drop from Ketheric Thorm NPC in the Mind Flayer colony. The shield provides +2 AC and you gain 2 bonus features.

Arcane Enchantment can be used to gain a +1 bonus to spells. This also saves DC. The second feature, Shield Bash is used whenever you are hit by a melee attack, use your reaction to knock them prone. Shield Proficiency is the basic feature of this equipment and you can avoid disadvantage on attack rolls.

Rain Mail Heavy Armour

This common equipment is found at the sarcophagus in the Dank Crypt. Also, the trader Dammon sells this for some gold. Wear this armor set and unlock the disadvantage for stealth rolls. Dexterity doesn’t provide any AC bonus effects. But this is another powerful piece of equipment for side quests and events.

Splint Armor

Splint is a common and heavy armor set. You can get Splint armor set as drops from enemies. This provides enhanced protection and AC bonus effects. Also, your basic defense stats will be higher at each level. 

Adamantine Splint Armour 

Adamantine Splint Armor is a very rare heavy armor set. This uses a heavy armor proficiency. Go to Grymforge and complete the Adamantine Forge quest to earn this resource. Also, you have to use Splint Mould and Mithral Ore to craft the entire Armor set.

This heavy armor set reduces your incoming damage with the assistance of a magical plate. Intense Adamantine Backlash equipment feature gets unlocked and you can activate it to inflict Reeling effects for 3 turns on melee attackers. You are immune to critical hits and this armor also provides a disadvantage on stealth checks.

Cap of Curing 

Cap of Curing is an uncommon helmet that’s found in a locked chest at Alfira, the Druid Grove. The helmet automatically unlocks the equipment feature called Soothing Songs. Bardic Inspiration action can be used to inspire your ally and this will retrieve 1d6 hit points.

The Protecty Sparkswall

A rare clothing piece that’s located in a locked chest near Grymforge. Get to the trap corridor and open the gilded chest. You will unlock two equipment features from this clothing.

Sparkswall Armour increases your AC and Saving Throws with Lightning Charges. High Spell Casting provides +1 bonus to spells and this is another useful clothing equipment in Baldur’s Gate III.

The Speedy Lightfeet

These are rare boots that are found inside a heavy chest. Go to the wooden Batch at Blighted Village to unlock this. Unlock the Speedy Sparks. This equipment feature grants +3 lightning charges while dashing. Athletics will be +1 every time. Explore the heavy chest and unlock these valuable boots.

Hr’a’cknir Bracers

These are very rare gloves that are unlocked after completing Act 1. With this equipment, you will be able to access the Telekinesis spells. The gloves cast mage hand as an action. Strength Saving Throws will be +1 and this also automatically resets after a long rest.

Shield of Devotion

A very rare shield that also provides additional spell slots. Shield of Devotion will be available in act 2 at the Last Light Inn. Quartermaster Talli, the trader will sell it for some bucks. The shield provides one level 1 spell slot for a challenge.

Level 3 Abjuration school spell, Aid, will be automatically unlocked. Shield Bash features will be activated and you can use it to counterattack a melee target and inflict prone on them

Dark Justiciar Helmet

This is a very rare and medium-sized helmet from the Gauntlet of Shar. Get to the silent library and acquire the side quest, Find Ketheric Thorm’s relic, and then solve the Riddle of the Night to unlock the equipment.

This equipment was worn by Shar Worshippers and you will unlock two different features.  Magical Durability and Covert Critical will be unlocked with this Helmet.

Plate Armor

This common heavy armor set is sold by A’jak’nir Jeera in Creche Y’llek. A unique gear item in Baldur’s Gate III that provides extra defense and DC. There will also be no AC from dexterity.

Chain Mail Armor

The chain mail armor set is dropped by Lurgan NPC in the Underdark beach. The wearer gets more protection and you will be resistant against fire damage. This can be useful against enemies who just breathe fire and try to set you ablaze. You can control their rage easily and get enhanced protection.

Spidersilk Armour 

A basic light armor set that can be earned in Shattered Sanctum from Minthara. Stealthy checks get a +1 bonus. Constitution saving throws gain an advantage as well. Overall, this rare armor set is a worthy item for BG 3 Act 1.

Gloves of Dexterity

Equip these very rare gloves to enhance your dexterity stats to 18. Attacks will be increased per turn. Go to Crèche Y’llek and earn this from A’jak’nir Jeera. 

Reaper’s Embrace

This heavy armor set reduces your incoming damage by +2 through the magical plate. Reaper’s Rigidity is activated and this ensures you are not affected by spells. Dexterity saving throws will gain a disadvantage. Howl of the Dead is another equipment feature and stealth checks will gain a disadvantage again. Slay the NPC, Ketheric Thorm in Mind Flayer colony to get this equipment piece. 

Yuan-Ti Scale Mail

This medium armor provides +1 to initiative rolls using the Ambusher equipment feature. Another equipment feature is Exotic Material and this adds a dexterity modifier to your AC. The armor set also doesn’t impose disadvantageous actions on stealth ability checks. You can unlock this from Act 2 from the merchant Quartermaster Talli at the Last Light Inn.

Killer’s Sweetheart

This is a very rare ring that unlocks the Executioner equipment feature. Kill any creature to convert your attack rolls to a critical hit. The Armor set doesn’t work after a long rest. To unlock this equipment, you have to go to Gauntlet of Shar in Act 2 and get the ring item as a drop from a random boss or enemy.

Ring of Absolute Force

Get this fiery equipment from the Sergeant Thrinn NPC as a drop at Grymforge. This glowing uncommon Ring lets you deal extra thunder damage. It also unlocks the Thunderwave spell that can be utilized to unleash thunderous force effects on targets and push them back. This ring can be used once per short rest

Shifting Corpus Ring 

A rare ring equipment that unlocks two powerful spells including Invisibility and Blur. You will be in Invisible for a while. Collect this ring as a drop from Fist Marcus at the Last Inn.
