Despite already being a part of Fortnite, The Rock is bringing Black Adam to the island as another character. Black Adam will be Dwayne Johnson’s second character to appear in Fortnite, following The Foundation. This release is a promotion for the upcoming movie.
There is no doubt that Black Adam won’t have as much impact on the storyline as The Foundation did, but it will still mark another major crossover in the series. As there are very few notable characters from the DC brand that haven’t made their way to Fortnite yet, Black Adam is the latest in a long line of DC crossovers. Who is Black Adam?
DC’s legendary villain Black Adam is 5000 years old. Black Adam is an Egyptian named Teth-Adam, and he often clashes with Shazam because he derives his power from the same source, but has very different morals. Recent years have seen Black Adam become an antihero in comics, which will be the basis for a long-awaited movie adaptation starring The Rock.
For fans of the DC movie Black Adam, a Fortnite skin in his likeness will be available in celebration of the film’s release on October 21. Dwayne Johnson’s portrayal of Black Adam has been awaited since Shazam first introduced characters and lore from the Black Adam storyline in 2019.
Fortnite Black Adam Skin
Dwayne Johnson shared a video along with the Fortnite Black Adam Skin announcement that showed Black Adam plummeting from the sky as other battle royale characters would in a typical match after leaving the bus. The symbol on the back of Black Adam’s cape illuminates like back bling. As it zooms in the front to highlight some finer golden details, we see some finer golden details in his black fabric.
In Fortnite, a golden lightning bolt appears on Fortnite Black Adam Skin, just as it will in the movie, and it’s been shown with and without the hood. Besides the skin itself, the trailer also reveals some other interesting details that might hint at what else will be included in the Black Adam collab.
A lot of attention is focused at one point on Black Adam’s back, which is linked by three pyramids. The back bling looks to be something players can equip, but we don’t yet know what it will be called. Black Adam’s appearance with his hood up and down suggests there will be an alternate style available as well, allowing players to make the same cosmetic decisions as before.
Fortnite Black Adam Skin Release Date
In Item Shop at 8 PM, ET on October 20th, 2022, Fortnite Black Adam Skin will be released, with the movie releasing the next day on October 21st. In addition to learning more about the collaboration, players can watch the Black Adam premiere Livestream on Twitch at 6:30 PM ET to learn more about the cosmetics. As is the case with the majority of crossover skins, the Black Adam skin will probably be available in the Item Shop for more than a week.
Price of the Black Adam Skin
Assuming Black Adam’s price is similar to the prices of every DC skin so far, expect him to cost 1500 V-Bucks when he becomes available in the Fortnite Item Shop. Black Adam’s bundle is expected to cost around 2000 V-Bucks.
