There are a total of 3 upgrades for the flame thrower. 2 of these upgrades can be Acquired when you travel And another one can be bought from the store once you reach chapter 4 of the game. These upgrades cannot be missed as it is visible when you travel. However, just in case you missed it you can get back to them during certain periods in the game. Chapter 4
In order to unlock this upgrade you have To interact with the shop after you get the flamethrower in chapter 3. You can buy this Upgrade from the store for $11500.
Chapter 7
This upgrade Could be a little tricky to find as you have to go from a beaten path to get this. After you meet Nicole you will be given the task to activate 0 gravity in the equipment maintenance Bay. From here go to the ground level and navigate your way towards the wall until you find a security level 3 locked door. Enter Throw this door to find the flame thrower upgrade that you can spot lying on the ground.
Chapter 10
To get this upgrade you have to complete the side quest “You are not Authorized ” to get the Master Override Keycard. The Master Override Keycard gives you access to locked rooms and crates above security level 3 and the third upgrade for the Flamethrower is in one of these crates. The locked crate is located inside the Deluxe Room in the Crew Quarters of the Ishimura.
