Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander have been feuding for a couple of weeks after their relationship turned awry
Former members of the Hurt Business, Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander were going pretty strong until the beginning of this year.
The pair teamed up for the first time when they began feuding with the New Day to get hold of the WWE RAW tag team championship. They won the tag team title at WWE TLC 2020.
The beginning of 2021 saw Alexander go a bit hysteric, as he began exhibiting a complete lack of team-spirit, frequently tagging himself during their matches to steal the credits.
This led to the pair losing their tag team championship against the New Day on the March 15th episode of RAW. They were also eventually kicked out of the Hurt Business by Bobby Lashley.
The month of April saw them suffer a ton of defeats, to the Viking Raiders, RK-Bro. The team began the month of May with a defeat against Lucha House Party, after which Alexander confronted Benjamin and blamed him for the team’s poor performances of late. The tag team split.
Should the Shelton Benjamin-Cedric Alexander feud continue?
Just a week later the pair collided in a one-on-one match on the May 10th Episode of RAW. An exciting match saw Benjamin emerge victorious.
Though fans were disappointed when the pair left the Hurt Business and also eventually split, they were happy to see Benjamin getting the credit he deserved.
For an extended period of time, he had been treated like trash in the Hurt Business storyline. Their rivalry also saw both the wrestlers’ pre-Hurt Business theme song being brought back, which was quite fresh.
And now Alexander exacted revenge over Benjamin, winning via. pinfall, after a stunning Neutralizer.
The feud sure does seem like a welcome change, as it garnered predominantly positive responses from the fans. The main reason being Shelton Benjamin’s fanbase, due to his incredibly long association with the WWE.
With a strong storyline, this new feud can possibly do wonders for the company.
