Adam Pearce wants Roman Reigns to end “charade” before Royal Rumble

As we know by now, Adam Pearce was inserted into the gauntlet match on SmackDown this month. It was to decide the contender for the WWE Universal Championship at Royal Rumble against Roman Reigns.

And just like everyone predicted, Pearce won, albeit in an unconventional manner. Last week, Pearce wanted everyone to see him as the underdog and underestimate him.

But now, he wants Roman Reigns to call off the fight altogether for the Tribal Chief’s own good. In a video posted by the WWE producer, he says that he is not afraid of a beating, but wants Reigns to back out to protect his legacy.

Pearce says that his time in the sun is over, and Reigns should focus on other things to further his legacy, rather than taking on the 42-year-old.

The video was a little strange in all honesty. You could not tell if it was a threat or an honest plea, but it still riled up the Big Dog on Twitter.

The reigning champion quoted Pearce’s video and asked him to not worry about the the Thoroughbred‘s legacy. He says that WWE is “his show” and that he decides what he wants to do and who he wants to fight next.

WWE later posted that the contract signing between the two would take place this week on SmackDown. Reigns’ reply must have struck Pearce’s ego as he replied to the WWE’s announcement with a resounding ‘yes’.

There was no doubt if the match would happen or not, but the contract signing would make for some great build-up to the fight inside the ring.
