Bully Ray and Big E left stumped over what WrestleMania Nigerian Drum match is

Speaking on the Busted Open Podcast, the current WWE Intercontinental Champion has claimed that he has no clue what his Nigerian Drum Match against Apollo Crews at WrestleMania entails.

Big E has been locked in a feud with Apollo for a while now and the pair are set for a blow-off bout at WrestleMania 37 later this weekend.

However, their bout has an interesting stipulation. Big E and Crews will be facing each other in a “Nigerian Drum Match” at WrestleMania – a stipulation that has left many watchers puzzled.

Seems like we’re not alone though as the champion Big E himself has little idea about what kind of a match it is, along with the podcast’s co-host Bully Ray.

Building up to the Showcase of the Immortals later this weekend, Bully Ray told Big E that he was very much excited for his match with Crews. He then went on to ask the Intercontinental Champion as to what the rules of the match were. Both men burst into laughter as Big E answered, claiming he had no idea.

“You’re setting me up. You know I don’t know, you know damn well I don’t know.”

Bully Ray then replied back, saying he too did not know and more laughter followed.

“I really don’t know, I’ scratching my head. Okay, so cool, yeah, we’ll all find out together.”

Crews, while issuing the challenge to Big E, claimed that, the match is an ancient tradition created by his ancestors. He added that there were no rules or limitations – just a beating so loud it sounds like a drum. This comes after Crews went through a change of characters earlier this year, as he embraced his Nigerian heritage.

WWE, over the past year, have thrown our way some weird stipulations – the “Eye for an Eye” match between Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins, the “Firefly Inferno” match between Randy Orton and The Fiend Bray Wyatt. It is intriguing to see what zany idea the WWE creative comes up with for the Nigerian Drum Match.
