Bayley does not agree with Eva Marie calling herself the “Super Role Model” of WWE
On the 4th May episode of Monday Night RAW, WWE aired a vignette of Eva Marie which announced her return to the promotion after almost 5 years out of the pro wrestling scene.
‘Eva-Lution’, as WWE calls it, has failed to get fans excited, however. So much so that she may even take over the mantle from Charlotte Flair as the most hated female wrestler in WWE right now.
That is mainly due to the fans not agreeing that Marie is an elite pro wrestler. To many, it is a reminder of the ‘Divas’ time in WWE when women’s wrestling was not really promoted for the female pro wrestler’s in-ring abilities.
After the women’s revolution, the quality of the women’s division has shot up like never before. Superstars like Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, and Nia Jax have ushered in a new era of skilled female pro wrestlers.
But fans don’t realize that Marie can deliver at times as well. Just before departing from WWE, she had an epic NXT championship match with Bayley which was really well received by the fans and critics.
Bayley takes a shot at Eva Marie on her WWE return
Before we had the chance to see that match on the main roster, Marie was gone. But the former WWE SmackDown champion rekindled old memories after she took a jab at Marie’s expense on Twitter on Monday night.
Marie posted a video shoot and called herself WWE’s ‘Super Role Model’, to which Bayley replied with, “Or super dumb?”. Bayley must be a little mad at WWE creative considering she is the one calling herself WWE’s Role Model for a while now.
Marie will need a storyline when she comes back in but Bayley cannot be one of the options, at least for now, considering she is on the Blue brand whereas Marie will feature on RAW.
Nevertheless, there are plenty of possibilities for the two to go face to face in the future. As for Marie, it is unclear where exactly WWE will insert her.
With a considerable negative hype around her already, the promotion needs to carefully plan out what is next for her.
