mark, making it the fourth-largest Christmas opening of all time, unadjusted for inflation. Some projections put the film's gross at much more than $130 million, but Disney is being prudent and projects a $120 million to $130 million range.
The Little Mermaid is the first summer blockbuster in 2023 to explicitly target ladies, who accounted for 68% of Friday ticket buyers and had a good Cinema Score. The acclaimed animated film from Disney is being remade in live-action by Rob Marshall.
