Steve Smith had scored a century but Shreyas Iyer pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss the Australian

Shreyas Iyer came up with a big catch in the third ODI between Australia and India.

The Indian came up with a huge catch to get rid of the dangerous Steve Smith.

The Australian had reached the three-figure mark and looked set to take the team past the 300 mark.

Smith had just pulled off a great helicopter shot for a six and tried to repeat that to Mohammed Shami.

The Australian didn’t connect well with the ball and Iyer was running in to possibly save the boundary. However, the 25-year-old dived in to somehow pull off a spectacular catch and dismiss Smith.

The Australian was left ruing his mistake as he made 131 and couldn’t take his side past the 300 run mark.

Marnus Labuschagne was the only other Australian to score more than 50 and it was a disappointing performance from the bat by the away side.

Australia’s batsmen struggle

The Aussies started the three-match ODI series in excellent fashion. Aaron Finch and David Warner both scored centuries in the first clash but the duo haven’t been able to do the same in the next two games.

Australia struggled to get past the 300 mark in the previous game too as they lost to the Men in Blue.

This was another example of several players failing to build on a good start. Alex Carey made 35 before losing his wicket while Finch made 19 before being run-out in comical fashion.

India’s bowling deserved some credit for keeping the Aussies down to 286 from the 50 overs.
