Conor McGregor is to face Dustin Poirier in his next fight and that doesn’t seem to sit well with Tony Ferguson

Tony Ferguson is not concerned about calling people out on social media and he did so, this time, to Conor McGregor.

Ferguson’s last fight didn’t go so great as he was defeated by Justin Gaethje at UFC 249. However, El Cucuy seems to be ready for another battle and there were some rumours of a big fight on his table.

However, Ferguson has refused to face UFC newcomer Michael Chandler and it will be interesting to see who is his next opponent.

However, Ferguson has hit out at McGregor over the Irishman’s choices. McGregor is to fight Dustin Poirier in a huge rematch next year and recently suggested he was open to fighting Rafael dos Anjos, after their earlier scrap got cancelled.

Ferguson believed that McGregor wasn’t taking the right fights and even called him “washed up”:

“No Balls To Fight A Top Contender. @TheNotoriousMMA you’re washed up laddy.”

McGregor vs Ferguson?

Ferguson and McGregor have also never met in the past, and that would be a great match up. However, the Irishman seems ready for his next clash, which seems to be Dos Anjos.

Poirier vs McGregor 2 would be an amazing bout and that is going to be a main eventer. Ferguson, for his part, hasn’t fought since his loss to Gaethje.

However, Ferguson’s comments on McGregor not taking the top contender don’t add up. He might be ranked above McGregor in the Lightweight rankings but Poirier is ranked about both of them.

Poirier also has been in fine form since his loss to Khabib, and the winner of the Poirier vs McGregor fight could end up challenging the Russian for the title.

Ferguson had his chance to win the interim title and lost that to Gaethje, and it seems we will never see El Cucuy take on Khabib in the UFC.
