Nine months on, the number 4 ranked welterweight has had a full training camp this time, and looks determined to get that belt which has been eluding him for more than eight years.

Gamebred recently spoke to Sports Center in an interview, where he was asked about how the weight cutting and a full training camp will be having a significant effect, this time around. Masvidal divulged that he had lost a staggering 20 pounds, just ahead of his UFC 251 bout.

He also went on to say that he wanted to expose the coward that Usman is. Masvidal had the following to say about his weight cut:

“Usually I cut seven or eight pounds for a fight…Last time it wasn’t the same it was about 20 pounds.”

He then, continued:

“We’re just excited. I’m ready to go. I’m ready to shut the show, down. There’s going to be violent action from start to finish. I’m gonna expose the coward that he is…Let’s get in there and find that who’s a real man and who’s not.”

Jorge Masvidal is a massive underdog going into the fight

Despite having a full training camp, Masvidal will be going into the Usman rematch as a massive underdog with odds of +325, meaning a wager of $100 will earn a return of $325 if he beats Usman.

Usman, on the other hand is the clear favourite with odds of -425. He is yet to lose in the UFC and is also riding a 13 match win streak in the promotion, which is also the most consecutive wins in the history of the welterweight division.

But, with Masvidal, one never knows. Barring a controversial TKO loss to Rodrigo Damm, back during his time at World Victory Road, Gamebred has never been knocked out in 48 fights.
