Angela Hill will not be part of UFC 256 after testing positive for Covid-19

UFC 256 will be without one big name as Angela Hill confirmed she had tested positive for Covid-19.

Hill, who has created history by becoming the first black woman to headline a UFC event, was to fight Tecia Torres.

However, Overkill won’t be fighting at the final PPV of the year. Hill posted an update on social media confirming that she had tested positive for coronavirus.

She also claimed that there wasn’t a lot of social distancing taking place at her camp, despite her best efforts.

The 35-year-old added an update about her health too. Hill claimed she as feeling normal now after being sick over the weekend.

She also claimed that in normal circumstances she would have fought but she was happy being in decent shape.

We wish Hill a speedy recovery as this would have been a great chance for her to break a two-fight losing streak.

Hill lost to Michelle Waterson and Claudia Gadelha by split decision. However, both the battles were close and could have gone in her favour.

Not the first fight hit by Covid-19

Hill isn’t the first fighter to have been hit by Covid-19 just ahead of the battle. Last weekend’s main event saw Kevin Holland get replaced by Marvin Vettori.

However, more was to come later on with several fights being cancelled on the eve of the show. Almost every event is being hit by the virus and several fighters are missing out on their scheduled fights.

However, the UFC is doing a good job of ensuring that their cards are being held. Several stars have had to accept fights on short notice and we have been witness to some incredible battles over the past month.
