Tony Ferguson lost at UFC 256 to Charles Oliveira

Former interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson went down in flames against Charles Oliveira at UFC 256 last week.

Oliveira dominated El Cucuy for three rounds and was declared the winner by a unanimous decision. More than the result, it was Ferguson not tapping out despite being locked in a gruesome armbar that had the fans talking.

It was surprising how his arm stayed intact after it. However, that doesn’t change the result of the fight and the fact that the American was beaten.

For Ferguson, this is uncharted territory. The 36-year-old has never lost consecutive fights in his MMA career before.

He earlier succumbed to Justin Gaethje who won at UFC 249 by TKO in round 5. He earlier won 12 fights in a row and was tipped by many to beat Gaethje comfortably.

Ali Abdelaziz was on hand to talk trash to Ferguson and believed that the American would succumb to the “power” of Gaethje when the two collided at UFC 249 for the interim lightweight title.

He was proved right then, but he has again taken a potshot at Ferguson.

After Ferguson’s loss to Oliveira, Abdelaziz called El Cucuy a ‘white belt’ on his Twitter. That invited a response from Ferguson, which was probably what he wanted all along.

Now he has taken it a step further and made fun of Tony Ferguson for a video that the American posted on account.

Ferguson is practising his punches and working on his speed in the video, but Abdelaziz believes that these party tricks don’t matter inside the octagon.

Ali Abdelaziz is no stranger to trash talking. The former MMA fighter-turned-manager has had a history of inserting himself into the feuds of his clients such as Kamaru Usman and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

He even said that he could take Ferguson in a fight, and it will be interesting to see what Ferguson’s response to this could be.
