UFC 256 results and bonuses: The final UFC PPV event of the year was head and it had a couple of incredible fights to finish off the year.
Deiveson Figueiredo was to defend his Flyweight title just 21 days after his last bout. This was the fastest turnaround for a champion and he would take on Brandon Moreno to keep his crown.
The other big fight on the card was between Tony Ferguson and Charles Oliveira. Oliveira was coming in this fight undefeated in his last seven battles while El Cucuy was making his return from a horrible loss against Justin Gaethje.
There were some other big names and former champions, such as Junior dos Santos, also fighting in the card and here are the results.
The card was broken into three cards with an early prelim, prelim and main card.
Early prelim card
Chase Hooper beats Peter Barrett – Submission (heel hook)
A few fights were cancelled due to Covid-19 test results but Chase Hooper picked up an impressive heel hook win in the first fight of the night.
Prelim card
Tecia Torres beats Sam Hughes – Doctor’s stoppage
Tecia Torres started the prelim card with a win over Sam Hughes.
Gavin Tucker beats Billy Quarantillo – Decision (Unanimous)
Gavin Tucker was next to pick up a win as he got the better of Billy Quarantillo with a unanimous decision.
Rafael Fiziev beats Renato Moicano – KO (punches)
The first knockout of the night took place as Rafael Fiziev destroyed Renato Moicano.
Cub Swanson beats Daniel Pineda – KO (punches)
Cub Swanson also got a KO win over Daniel Pineda in the final fight of the prelim card.
Main card
Cyril Gane beats Junior dos Santos – TKO (Elbow)
Cyril Gane continued his undefeated start to his career with a great win over former champion Junior dos Santos.
Kevin Holland beats Ronaldo Souza – KO (punch)
Kevin Holland picked up his fifth win of the year thanks to an incredible punch.
Mackenzie Dern beats Virna Jandiroba – Decision (unanimous)
Mackenzie Dern put on quite a show against Virna Jandiroba, despite features she might have broken her nose.
Charles Oliveira beats Tony Ferguson – Decision (unanimous)
Charles Oliveira put on quite a show as he dismantled Tony Ferguson and got the unanimous win.
Deiveson Figueiredo vs Brandon Moreno – Majority draw
This was one of the greatest Flyweight battles in the history of the UFC, something Dana White admitted too.
Moreno was able to hold his own against Figueiredo, despite one judge given the champion one round.
Two others said this was a draw and Figueiredo kept hold of his title.
UFC 256 bonuses
Holland and Fiziev both got $50,000 bonuses for the Performance of the Night. Both stars got great knockouts and were deserving of the award.
Moreno and Figueiredo also got $50,000 each as they won the Fight of the Night award.
