Pocket Rogues guide: Environment

The main thing you need to take into account while playing Pocket Rogues is interacting with your surroundings. Therefore, whenever you see any strange instruments or crates while exploring, try breaking them with your weapons. This is because it is possible that those things may contain valuable rewards.

Pocket Rogues guide: Dungeon

As we already said in the beginning, there are many unique dungeons in the game. There are randomly generated floors in each dungeon. This means that no two floors are the same in terms of layout or enemies, breakables, or traps. You encounter a boss at the end of a few floors (usually five). When this boss is defeated, a new area will open up and your character will have the chance to face more danger and certain death. Naturally, your character’s existence is largely dependent on your wit and skill.

It is also possible to find different spawns in the dungeons. Keep an eye out for the in-game tooltips, which tell you exactly how monsters behave. For example, you’ll face mostly undead in the Catacombs, the Lost Tomb, a gated dungeon. You can also survive better against certain types of monsters with some pieces of equipment. Keep those handy when you find them.

Beware of the yellow color enemies

You’ll have to watch out for enemies with yellow names. As they usually have higher HP and hit harder than other monsters, these monsters are slightly more dangerous than others. However, even though they may seem more dangerous, they also provide a lot more rewards. In addition to dropping a lot of gold and crystals, these monsters have a variety of uses as well.

Use strong attack

Each weapon has a basic attack option in the game, but there’s also another option nearby to launch an even more powerful attack. You can use this option in situations where your health is about to run out and you need to finish the enemy immediately. This is recommended only when you are faced with stronger enemies. Because these stronger attacks also require more resources for weapons, it will take a long time for them to load.

Do not worry about dying

It is completely normal and common in this game for you to die. You’ll die experimenting with things, you’ll die accidentally pressing a button that suddenly springs a trap, you’ll die when the green bar fills, and you’ll die when you’re poisoned. Beware of death, so don’t develop too much attachment to your character. The benefit of dying in particular is that you can review your mistakes and return to the Fortress with all the gold and crystals you have earned.

Treasury and Ambush

You might also encounter an Ambush or a Treasury on your next floor. An ambush is risky because the region is full of monsters who want to eat your flesh, robotic turrets, and spikey barricades. Though it sounds better than an Ambush, The Treasury is not good too, because your character must navigate a maze that verily wants you dead. Fel sources poison you when you get too close to spike traps that operate in sequence and intervals.

Keep moving in a fight

Move away if there are too many enemies. Using this method, you can avoid swipes from the enemy. It is extremely important to fight on the move. In addition to keeping your character safe, you can study the room’s layout this way. Each hit staggers the enemy backward, resetting their attack animation each time. Although this doesn’t seem like much, it does work. Although not all enemies experience this, it is sufficient for you to at least avoid getting hurt.

Make use of the corners

Keeping the monster in a corner and then slowly moving away from will give the player more freedom to move around. If you’re playing a warrior or berserker, grouping them together helps, especially since your attacks sweep through the enemy easily. This is especially helpful in larger rooms where there’s plenty of space to dodge your enemy’s attacks. Every attack that reduces their health should quickly decrease the crowd, increasing your chances of escaping.

Kill enemies with traps

It is not uncommon to find that these traps can actually deal great damage to your enemies if you can lure them there, provided you aren’t hit by them yourself. This is a great way to kill your opponents without consuming any of your mana.

Destroy the statues

In order to prevent any statues from standing, destroy them whenever you see them. You will find many statues, some of which look like hooded beings, littering the Lost Tomb. This is especially important if you explore it. You can find a demon called the Weeping Statue standing out among the other statues, but if you happen to come into contact with them or stand directly in front of them, most of them will attack you.

The statues will unleash spikes from every corner of their bodies to impale you. If they are smashed before they have a chance to do so, you will be safe. Therefore, if you come across any statue anywhere else, destroy it as much as you can.
