Sadly, during KD’s infancy, Wayne Pratt deserted the family and eventually KD’s parents, Wanda and Wayne got divorced.

Although KD was born in Washington D.C., KD grew up in Prince George’s County, Maryland, on the eastern outskirts of Washington.

Durant had a tough childhood and was raised by his grandmother Barbara Davis and his mother, Wanda. Durant has a sister, Brianna, and two brothers, Tony and Rayvonne.

It was a long ten years for Kevin Durant and his father to get back on good terms, but they eventually got into each other’s good graces again.

Wayne Pratt became an integral part of KD’s life and helped him through his way in college and the early part of the NBA.

Durant in return thanked his dad on many occasions even though he deserted them during childhood. Also, when KD’s dad came back to his life during his teenage years, Durant was really happy that his dad came back.
