Nikola Jokic continued to solidify his claims for the MVP award with another great performance against the Lakers.

The Denver Nuggets led by Nikola Jokic racked up a crucial win against the Los Angeles Lakers as they continue to strengthen their position for the upcoming playoffs which are not far away.

Nuggets won the game by a score of 129-118 in which the Lakers who have struggled throughout the season actually played well without LeBron James who was out due to an ankle injury.

Despite the Lakers’ valiant effort, it was not enough as the Nuggets were simply better and their MVP candidate Nikola Jokic was the best player on the court today.

Jokic ended up scoring 38 points while also recording 18 rebounds and 6 assists as well. A stat line like this shows how important Nikola Jokic is to this Denver franchise as he brings so much to the table and is deservingly so the frontrunner of the MVP race this year.

The Nuggets are definitely going to end up in the playoffs and with Jamal Murray & Michael Porter Jr. scheduled to return for the playoffs, this team can cause some serious damage in the playoffs just like they did in the 2019/2020 season where they went to the Western Conference Finals.

Anthony Davis since his return from the ankle injury he suffered against the Utah Jazz has been playing really well but the time is running out for the Lakers to even make the play-in tournament.

Against the Denver Nuggets, AD scored 28 points but it was not enough for the Lakers to get a win to strengthen their position to make it to the play-in tournament.

Russell Westbrook also continued to impress as he recorded a double-double while also scoring 27 points in the loss against the Nuggets which put them 2 games behind the San Antonio Spurs for the 10th seed in the West.

Lakers will need to win all of their last 4 remaining games in the schedule to have a chance of making it to the play-in tournament which is their main goal as of now as their season continues to get worse day by day.
