Things have not been looking bright for the Los Angeles Lakers this season
The Los Angeles Lakers have had a terrible season so far this year, as they currently find themselves struggling to even make the playoffs after being one of the favorites to win the Championship prior to the start of the season.
The Lakers are currently having a record of 31-41 and are the 9th seed in the Western Conference and their only chance of making the playoffs will be by going through the play-in tournament which will be a tough task for them.
The struggle of the Lakers has been due to many reasons like the injuries to LeBron James and Anthony Davis which have kept them out of the many games throughout the season along with the bad coaching adjustments done by Frank Vogel which has not helped Russell Westbrook to thrive as he was a new player on this team.
Besides that, the team has lacked collective effort and has often found themselves struggling against the young teams which give their all during the matches, With only 10 games left in the regular season, the main question that arises is, Can the Lakers turn around their season?
The answer to this question is certainly Yes! because Anthony Davis who is quite arguably the most important player on this Lakers team alongside LeBron James is scheduled to be back perhaps in time for the play-in tournament.
Anthony Davis has averaged 23 points per game throughout the season and has also averaged 9.7 rebounds per game this season which gives us an idea of the impact that he can have on a game when he is healthy.
The return of Anthony Davis will be the key to success for the Los Angeles Lakers!
With LeBron James already playing like an MVP this season, as he leads the league in scoring this season, the return of Anthony Davis can really thrive the Lakers and help them to qualify for the playoffs as they can easily beat the Pelicans and most likely Clippers in the play-in tournament with a healthy Anthony Davis alongside this monster version of LeBron James.
Russell Westbrook who has struggled throughout the season for the Lakers has also started to put up good performances recently as he will be a key player for them during the playoffs. Westbrook can prove a lot of people wrong if he is able to continue his good run of form heading into the playoffs and he certainly will be looking to do that.
We are already well aware of the fact that a healthy Anthony Davis alongside LeBron James in a 7 game playoff series is very tough to beat. The Lakers won the championship before the last season where the duo played together and in last year’s 1st round of the playoffs where they were up against the Phoenix Suns, the Lakers were cruising to beat them comfortably before Anthony Davis got injured.
If Russell Westbrook also steps up his game alongside the duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, there is no denying the fact that this Lakers team can easily beat any team in a 7-game playoff series and make a deep run into the playoffs which will be a great achievement for this team given the fact how bad this season really was for them.
