Being selected 29th in the 2016 NBA Draft, Murray went on to replace Draymond Green as an All-Star last season. While many were impressed by him, Dejounte was not satisfied with his performance for the Spurs.

Murray said on an episode of ‘All The Smoke’ podcast, “It was a roller coaster, I used to go home mad. I had my uncle living with me, and I used to go home mad. Just from not understanding where we come from, you won’t understand what they’re putting you through. I’d come to the arena, and they’re like, “you’re not dressing up today.” I don’t even get a sports jacket.”

The marquee guard added, “They try to give me a big a** sports jacket. Like, “Nah you can wear Pau Gasol’s sports jacket.” So for me, I’m like, there’s a lot being thrown at me, and I am like “I don’t like this bro. Then I am going home, and I am telling….I’m busting Tony’s ‘[Parker] ass in practice, Patty Mills, I’m locking him up.” Just give me five minutes, seven minutes.”

Stephen Jackson, who is one of the hosts of the podcast, agreed with Dejounte Murray’s feelings while adding for good measure that he went through the same mind games when he played for the same franchise. Having won the NBA Championship in 2003 with the same team, Jackson acknowledged how this franchise’s deed with Murray was not the only time such instances were raised.
