Dodgers star Freddie Freeman recently fired his agent, and now details have emerged about the reason for it.
Recently, Freddie Freeman traveled back to Atlanta to take on the Atlanta Braves, his old team. Freeman received his championship ring and is currently playing for the Dodgers. In his first game back at the stadium where he played his entire career, he received a warm welcome.
Reports stated that Freddie had broken off his relationship with his agent surfaced after his tearful return to Atlanta. According to rumors, Freddie was dissatisfied with the way the free agency process was handled and how he was forced to move from Atlanta to Los Angeles, which he didn’t want.
According to Buster Olney of ESPN: “Freddie Freeman, who has told friends he’s angry with how his free-agent negotiations played out, is changing representation, away from Excel. He is currently listed as being self-represented.”
New reports have emerged on why Freddie parted ways with his agent. According to Doug Gottlieb, “Casey Close never told Freddie Freeman about the Braves final offer, that is why Freeman fired him. He found out in Atlanta this weekend. It isn’t that rare to have happen in MLB, but it happened – Close knew Freddie would have taken the ATL deal.”
What does the future hold for Freddie Freeman?
Freddie Freeman is certainly not happy with how things were handled. He was forced to leave the Braves which he didn’t want. Even though currently he is on one of the best teams in the league, he would have loved to be playing for the Braves.
Freddie has clarified that he wants to stay with the Dodgers now. He will give his 100% every day for this team. The Dodgers will look to make a run toward the world series and improve their form. They are currently struggling a bit due to injuries to key players.
