The Los Angeles Dodgers have had a decent start to their season. They currently sit joint-top of the NL West alongside the San Diego Padres. They were the early season’s favorite to win the World Series this year. Unfortunately, they now have a big roadblock against them.

Walker Buehler, their star pitcher will be out till September. He went through an arthroscopic surgery to remove a bone spur from his troublesome right elbow. This will certainly have a big impact on the Dodgers’ season, as he is among the best pitchers in the league.

Talking about his confidence after returning from the surgery, Buehler said, “As confident as you can be having them go in and cut you open yesterday.”

He added, “I’ve been through the rehab process before, obviously with Tommy John, and came out the other side really good. So hopefully it’ll be the same result this time. But it’s a tricky thing. You never know what’s going to happen on the other side of these things.”

Walker Buehler claims he had trouble while playing this season

Walker Buehler didn’t have the best of starts to this season. He knew something was troubling him. As a result, he decided to get the surgery done. Buehler said, “At the end of the day I couldn’t get my body to move the way I needed it to do to perform well, and that’s on me.”

The Dodgers star pitcher added, “I don’t think there’s causation or correlation. It’s just part of the game. This isn’t my first year here. I’ve dealt with this before and have been able to bounce out of it, just wasn’t able to this year. Some of that tinkering may have led to what happened.”

He further said, “My ligament is good. Now it’s just a matter of getting it healed and getting it right. And hopefully, be able to help the team before the end of the year.”

Walker Buehler will be able to play in the playoffs, and that will be a great boost for the Dodgers team. He will be very important for them in October, and this surgery might turn out to be very fruitful for the team and Buehler himself.
