Predicted Arsenal line-up to face Manchester United in the Premier League

Arsenal and Manchester United go head to head at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday as the race for top four heats up in the Premier League.

The Gunners lost 3-1 at Rennes in the first leg of Europa League Round of 16 but they have been in good form of late in the league. With so much at stake, Unai Emery will go all guns blazing to get a win over the Red Devils.

Manchester United, meanwhile, will definitely fancy their chances on Sunday after producing an incredible comeback victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League Round of 16.

Team News

Lucas Torreira was shown a straight red card against Tottenham last weekend that’ll see him miss three games.

Danny Welbeck, Rob Holding and Hector Bellerin are all out for the rest of the season through injury.

Probable Arsenal XI

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Manager: Unai Emery

Bernd Leno (GK)

Leno is Arsenal’s first-choice between the sticks and is expected to continue on Sunday.

Shkodran Mustafi (RCB)

Mustafi has been very sloppy and indecisive since the start of the season. Yet, the German defender will start in a three-man backline.

Laurent Koscielny

Laurent Koscielny (CB)

Koscielny has shown signs of slowing down since the last year or so. He will have to put in a skipper’s performance against Manchester United at the Emirates.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos (LCB)

Arsenal’s most dependable defender, Sokratis will look to keep things tight at the back and combat with Lukaku’s physicality on Sunday.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles (RWB)

At right wing-back, Maitland-Niles could feature against the Red Devils. The youngster will look to repay the manager’s faith in him.

Sead Kolasinac (LWB)

The left wing-back position is tailor-made for Kolasinac, who loves to bomb forward down the left and contribute to the team’s attacks.

Granit Xhaka

Granit Xhaka (CM)

Xhaka will have a big job on his shoulders on Sunday. The Swiss has to start dictating the game from minute if the Gunners are to beat United.

Matteo Guendouzi (CM)

With Torreira suspended, Guendouzi will be the natural replacement and the Frenchman will partner Xhaka in central midfield.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (LM)

Mkhitaryan has been in top form since returning from injury for the Gunners. The Armenian will look to haunt his former club at the weekend.

ramsey
Aaron Ramsey

Aaron Ramsey (RM)

Scored in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham last weekend. The Welshman often delivers the goods in big games and that could be a factor of him getting the nod ahead of Ozil.

Alexandre Lacazette (ST)

Lacazette was rested against Rennes in midweek, with Aubameyang leading the attack in France. Emery will go with the former up front and hope the Frenchman delivers against Solskjaer’s men.
