Paris began his career in 2004 wrestling in several independent promotions under the name of Shiima Xion. He had his first national exposure when he participated as Zema Ion in the X Division Showcase, a Total Nonstop Action Wrestling tournament.

He then signed a contract with TNA. He stayed with the promotion until 2018. During his time, he joined Robbie E and Jessie Godderz in the BroMans stable, changing his name to DJZ.  He is a former two-time X Division Champion and one-time World Tag Team Champion with Andrew Everett. He has also worked for various other promotions, such as Major League Wrestling (MLW), Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA), and DDT Pro-Wrestling (DDT).

In 2011, Wilde’s hard work paid off as he signed with Impact Wrestling, then known as TNA (Total Nonstop Action) Wrestling. Under the ring name Zema Ion, he quickly established himself as an agile and innovative performer, known for his high-flying maneuvers and charismatic personality.

After making several impactful performances in the TNA he made his mark in WWE when on May 14, 2019, it was reported that he had signed a contract with the company and on the following month his ring name was changed to Joaquin Wilde. 

Announced in June, Joaquin Wilde entered the NXT Breakout Tournament, debuting on June 26 with a loss to Angel Garza in the first round. On December 13, he marked his debut on 205 Live by defeating James Tapia. On June 10, Wilde reappeared alongside Mendoza, revealing themselves as the masked abductors and aligning with El Hijo del Fantasma, leading to a heel turn as they attacked Drake Maverick.

On June 17, the faction’s name was unveiled as Legado Del Fantasma, with Wilde, Mendoza, and now Santos Escobar attacking Maverick again and later winning their debut match against Maverick and Breezango at The Great American Bash.

In 2021, Wilde and Mendoza teamed up for the 2021 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. They reached the semifinals but were defeated by eventual winners MSK (Nash Carter and Wes Lee). At NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, they challenged MSK and Grizzled Young Veterans for the Tag Team titles, with MSK emerging victorious.

On the October 7 episode of SmackDown, Legado Del Fantasma, with Zelina Vega substituting for Lopez, ambushed Hit Row as they entered, marking the group’s arrival on the main roster. Come March 10 on SmackDown, Wilde, alongside the rest of Legado Del Fantasma, aided Rey Mysterio against The Judgment Day, leading to a face turn.

Then, on the March 31 episode of SmackDown, Rey formed the Latino World Order and extended an invitation to Legado Del Fantasma, appreciative of their help against his son, Dominik, and The Judgement Day.
