Rey Mysterio Career
Mystery started his wrestling career in 1989, when he was only 14 years old. After his training program with his uncle, Mysterio Sr. was completed; from 1992 to 1995, he joined the assistance, evaluation and management department, where he participated in wrestling competitions.
Rey joined Extreme Championship Wrestling in 1995 and then moved to World Championship Wrestling in 1996. As well as other masters, such as Ultimate Dragon, Billy Kidman and even Psycho, he defeated them in the “Bash at the Beach” event. He won his first heavyweight championship against Marenko in July 1996. He lost the championship to Jericho.
In 1999, he removed his mask in a ‘Hair vs. Mask match’ against Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.
Mysterio joined WWE in 2002 and came in as the underdog. In 2006, he won Royal Rumble 2006 and later defeated Orton and Angle to become World Heavyweight Champion at Wrestlemania 22.
Mysterio held several championships during his time with WWE. He became a two-time Intercontinental champion, a former United States Champion, a four-time tag-team champion, a three-time Cruiserweight champion, and a three-time world champion.
In 2009, Mysterio beat JBL for the Intercontinental title to become 21st Triple Crown Champion in World Wrestling Entertainment history.
