Predicted Norwich City XI to face Blackburn Rovers in the Championship

Norwich City were held to a 2-2 draw away at Bristol City in the Championship last week and the Canaries once again face a tough test when they make the trip to Ewood Park to face Blackburn Rovers.

The Canaries slipped to 2nd in the standings as Leeds United beat Bolton Wanderers 1-0 last week and the onus will be on Daniel Farke’s men to reclaim their top spot.

Blackburn Rovers currently sit 12th in the Championship standings and Tony Mowbray’s side will be looking to get something out of this game after having drawn their previous fixture 2-2 against Birmingham City.

Team News

Louis Thompson (shoulder) and Carlton John Morris (cruciate ligament) are ruled out for the weekend clash while Timm Klose (bruised knee) is slightly doubtful to feature. Ivo Pinto is back to training after having recovered from his back injury and he will be pushing for a return.

Predicted XI

1. Tim Krul (GK)

The Dutchman made some terrific saves in the last outing and has always been a reliable presence between the sticks.

2. Max Aarons (RB)

He scored the equaliser in the last game and put in a solid shift at the back.

3. Ben Godfrey (CB)

The youngster put in a solid performance at the heart of the defence against Bristol City and should be amongst the starters for this one as well.

4. Christoph Zimmermann (CB)

The German has been a reliable presence at the back this season but he wasn’t at his best last week .

5. Jamaal Lewis (LB)

He looked decent going forward last week but was partly at fault for the first goal and he will be expected to do a better job at the back this time around.

6. Alex Tettey (CDM)

He has had a decent season so far but was all over the place against Bristol City and Norwich will need him to put in a better shift.

7. Mario Vrancic (CDM)

The Bosnian was partly responsible for Norwich’s poor defensive performance last week and left a lot of open spaces for the opposition to exploit.

8. Todd Cantwell (LW)

The youngster has been one of the breakout stars of the Championship this season and has provided that much-needed impetus to the attack from the left.

9. Emi Buendia (RW)

The Argentinian has been a creative presence in the final third for Norwich this season but he wasn’t at the top of his game against Bristol and will be expected to improve this time around.

11. Teemu Pukki (ST)

The Finnish international worked his socks off in the last game and managed to get an assist. He has been the go-to man for the Canaries this season and they will need him to rise to the occasion once again.
