The 32-year-old was to face Darren Till at UFC 185 but things changed after Till picked up an injury. Kevin Holland, who has been on a great run this year, took up the fight, and Hermansson explained the difference in fighting styles between the two:

“Darren Till looks pretty much the same in every fight. He has a pattern and he is really good at what he does but it is very limited. It is the same techniques over and over again and same movement. He is the same fighter in every fight but he’s really good at what he does.

“Kevin Holland, on the other hand, you never know what you are gonna get because he’s unpredictable and very creative and opportunistic.

“That makes it a little bit harder to game plan against. On the other hand, he isn’t as sharp as Darren in any area of the game.”

Till was the bigger name in all this but Hermansson isn’t taking Holland lightly. The 28-year-old has won all four of his fights in 2020 and been impressive this year.

Advantage over Holland

Hermansson was also asked if he had an advantage over Holland. The Swede brought up his ground game and suggested he always has an advantage when it comes to that:

“Absolutely. I do believe it is an advantage for me to take everybody down. I will always have an advantage there and then.

“I do believe I am the better stand-up fighter but at the same time in stand-up fighting, you are always one punch ahead from losing, so it is a much more dangerous game to play than the more controlled ground game.”

Hermansson added that it is always a bit of a risk to take someone on standing up. However, he was confident of doing well against Holland and claimed he was in the best shape of his life.
