Brandon Moreno has the ‘Assassin Baby’ nickname but a UFC legend has started calling him ‘Mexican McLovin’

Mexican UFC star Brandon Moreno has the biggest fight of his career at UFC 256 where he faces Deiveson Figueiredo.

The 26-year-old is coming off an impressive win over Brandon Royval at UFC 255. However, he and Figueiredo have a quick turnaround for the next UFC PPV.

The God of War got a spectacular win in his Flyweight title defence against Alex Perez and is ready for another crack.

Moreno is on a bit of a streak with three straight wins in the UFC and he has the nickname of the ‘Assassin Baby’.

That is partly down to his youthful looks but he has been called ‘Mexican McLovin’ too. This was coined by a UFC legend and Moreno explained who came up with the name on the Schmozone podcast:

“I was just laughing about that. Daniel Cormier gave me that nickname, I remember when I debut in the UFC against Louis Smolka.

“He said that on TV and it was OK, fine, it sounds good and a lot of people on social media say that [Mexican McLovin].

“It’s funny, am actually Baby but that’s nice too.”

Amazing movie

McLovin was a fake character used in the hilarious Superbad movie. One of the stars in the movie used a fake driver’s license with McLovin as the name in hopes of getting alcohol.

Moreno added that he loved the movie and even called it amazing. However, the Schmo and Helen Yee both joked that the UFC star was built much better when compared to McLovin.

There is a bit of a resemblance between the two but the difference is huge as well. Moreno has the chance to prove he is one of the toughest guys on the planet and facing Figueiredo won’t be easy.

The Mexican respected Figueiredo for accepting the fight right after UFC 255 and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top in this mouth-watering clash.
