The Scot’s final run ended with a comical trio but that didn’t bring him down. McIntyre worked hard in other promotions, became the top dog and then returned to WWE to leave his mark.

He won the 2020 Royal Rumble and then picked up the WWE title at WrestleMania, and is enjoying his best stint in the wrestling business.

McIntyre began training for wrestling at the age of 15 with his parents permitting him to do that as long as he focussed equally in his studies.

His family had to move to England for him to continue his training and he was learning the trade at Frontier Wrestling Alliance.

McIntyre made his wrestling debut in 2003 for British Championship Wrestling which was based in Glasgow.

He then performed in several independent promotions across Europe including Insane Championship Wrestling, One Pro Wrestling and All Star Wrestling where he won numerous titles.

WWE came calling for the Scot in 2007 and he was sent to their developmental circuit, after appearing on a few episodes of SmackDown.

He was brought back to SmackDown in 2009 and was given the Chosen One moniker. McIntyre won his first title in WWE, the Intercontinental title, from John Morrison before getting stripped of the crown for constantly attacking Matt Hardy.

He couldn’t continue his rise in WWE and after an injury, he was sent to NXT for more development. McIntyre and Jinder Mahal then teamed up with Heath Slater to form 3MB and that was more or less the end of his time in WWE.

He was released by WWE in 2014 and returned to ICW and Evolve as he tried to regain his confidence. Moving to TNA was a life-changer for him in 2015 and he even won the title later in 2016. He left TNA in 2017 and returned to NXT where he became the champion.

McIntyre was then brought to Raw in 2018 and teamed up with Dolph Ziggler before becoming a solo star and picking up the title in 2020.

Drew McIntyre was engaged to fellow wrestler, Taryn Terell (Tiffany) in 2009 and they were married in 2010.
