Originally from Marijampolė, Lithuania Kulboka has made a name for himself in Europe and the NBA. He started his career in the youth ranks of Žalgiris Kaunas with their reserve team, Žalgiris-2 Kaunas. In 2015, he signed a five-year deal with German powerhouse Brose Bamberg. In his first year, he played for the club’s affiliated teams in the German under-19 youth Bundesliga NBBL and in the second German division 2. Bundesliga ProA. In 2016-2017, he improved his stats to 14.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. On 1 May 2017, he made his debut for Brose Bamberg in Germany’s top-tier level Basketball Bundesliga and recorded 13 points and 5 rebounds.
In 2017, Kulboka joined Orlandina Basket of the Italian Serie A on a loan. After averaging 10.3 points, 5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game during the Basketball Champions League season, he was named the league’s Best Young Player of the season. In 2018, he returned to Brose Bamberg and later signed with the Spanish club RETAbet Bilbao Basket. In 2019, he extended his contract for two seasons.
In 2021, he received an offer from the Charlotte Hornets and left Bilbao.
