Luis Martinez, aka Damian Priest, who made his debut with WWE back in 2018, is a former United States Champion and NXT North American Champion. In four years, he has been involved in some of the best matches.
1. Damian Priest vs Finn Balor at NXT TakeOver: In Your House
Even though Damian Priest lost the match, it was still one of his best matches and was highly appreciated by Triple H and the fans.
This match also gets quite interesting looking at how the feud started. On the April 22 episode of NXT, Finn Balor was attacked backstage by an unknown attacker, which later turned out to be none other than Priest himself. It was an intensified, hard-fought battle that opened the way for Priest to win the vacated NXT North Amerian Championship title.
Priest won the championship title at a ladder match at NXT Take Over: XXX, earned his first championship in WWE, and held the title for 67 days.
2. Damian Priest vs Sheamus for the United States title at Summer Slam
It all started when Priest returned to RAW by saving Humberto Carrillo when he was attacked by Sheamus, the reigning United States Champion.
The rivalry started with Sheamus and Priest facing each other on RAW, where Priest defeated The Celtic Warrior. They continued to face off each other and went on to challenge Sheamus at Summer Slam for the US title.
After a hard-fought battle at Summer Slam, he was facing one of the experienced candidates like Sheamus. However, he put on a great show and defeated him to win the United States title.
3. Damien Priest vs Shinsuke Nakamura at Survivor Series
On October 25, 2021, Damian returned to RAW with a new revamped character, where he attacked T-Bar and developed his unique character and mannerism.
At Survivor Series, in a Champion vs Champion match-up, he faced Shinsuke Nakamura, the reigning Intercontinental Champion. It was a match that distracted Damian Priest heavily, mainly due to the presence of Rick Boogs. Priest warned Rick not to do it, but after another distraction, Priest attacked both Nakamura and Boogs and lost the match by disqualification.
4. Damian Priest and Bad Bunny vs The Miz and Morisson at WrestleMania
Grammy award-winning musician Bad Bunny teamed with Damian Priest on night 1 of WrestleMania 37 and took on The stable of The Miz and Morrison.
The match started with The Miz and Morrison dominating the amateur Bad Bunny, and with more experience, they had the match in their hands until Damian came to the party and turned the game on its head.
It was the crossbody of Bad Bunny that got them the win against The A-Lister to seal the victory.
5. Damian Priest vs AJ Styles on WWE Raw
This probably is one of the best matches for Damian Priest, especially how he defended the title against one of the most versatile superstars, AJ Styles. Styles was looking to become a four-time United States Champion.
The match started with AJ Styles in control with his experience. However, Priest came back behind and put on a great show to win the contest, and The Phenomenal One also appreciated it. Styles shook hands with Priest at the end, which was the match’s highlight.
