WWE SmackDown Results and Grades: This was the final episode before WWE Clash of Champions and this was a chance for SmackDown to set up the PPV.

Roman Reigns vs Jey Uso for the Universal Title was going to dominate the headlines but there was also Sami Zayn looking to reclaim his Intercontinental title.

Alexa Bliss vs Lacey Evans was advertised before the show but we start off this week’s WWE SmackDown results and grades piece with a triple threat match.

Intercontinental champions face off

Zayn, AJ Styles and Intercontinental Champion, Jeff Hardy, were all in the ring speaking about their chances to win the match at Clash of Champions.

When the title was lifted high above the ring, Zayn attacked his rivals. Adam Pearce then called for a triple threat match with Zayn picking up the win after throwing Styles out and covering Hardy. Styles then stood tall with the titles after attacking his rivals.

Zayn beats Styles and Hardy

Grade B

The promo at the start was decent and it was great seeing Zayn get his dues after missing out on SmackDown for a while.

The match was fantastic as well as this is a great rivalry and it should provide a great match at the PPV.

Bayley takes the stage

Otis attacked John Morrison since he wasn’t covered by Miz’s lawsuit. Bayley hit out at Sasha Banks and Nikki Cross too.

Cross faces Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s title. However, Bayley promised to use a chair and destroy her rival.

Grade C

Bayley on the microphone has been incredible but this segment didn’t actually cut it. Not because she wasn’t energetic or perfect but this was done before and more or less was something similar to what has been said in the past.

LHP problems

Lucha House Party star Grand Metalik took on Shinsuke Nakamura ahead of the tag title match at Clash of Champions.

It was one-half of the champions, Nakamura, who got the win but there were problems for Lucha House Party.

Kalisto didn’t want to help Lince Dorado and Metalik as they were being attacked and they could split up soon.

Nakamura beats Metalik

Grade B

Cesaro and Nakamura should keep their titles at the PPV but the split of Lucha House Party is the interesting bit.

Kalisto returning as a singles star could be great for him but LHP were great as a trio.

Riddle vs Corbin

Baron Corbin and Matt Riddle cut promos before meeting in the ring. The pair have built up quite a rivalry in recent months.

The match saw both stars hit each other with everything they got, but it was Corbin who won via the End of Days.

Corbin beats Riddle

Grade B

Corbin getting the win in this rivalry was great. However, there was nothing special or different in this clash.

Riddle vs Corbin should continue for a while and it will be interesting to see what happens next.

Bliss vs Evans

Evans had a counter for everything Bliss threw at her but things changed when The Fiend made a presence on the large screen and his music was played.

Bray Wyatt’s laughter also put Bliss in a trance and she went crazy attacking Evans. The match ended as a DQ but Bliss then hit Evans with a Sister Abigail outside the ring.

Evans beats Bliss

Grade B

Evans looked great in the ring but the story is all about Bliss. Wyatt and Bliss should team up and Bliss also stared at Reigns later on after she left the ring.

Reigns takes out Uso

Uso cut a promo asking why Reigns looked at him like he was enemy last week. Reigns and Paul Heyman were at the back but they made their way to the ring to address all this.

However, Uso came out to interrupt Reigns. The champion wasn’t happy and told Jey he wouldn’t know what to do with the title if he got it.

Uso then hit out at Reigns and said he wasn’t happy being confused with his twin, Jimmy. Reigns left the stage and walked back, but returned to attack Uso and claimed he was never going to take his title away.

Grade A

Reigns turning heel has been one of the best moves from WWE this year. The Big Dog didn’t hold back as he ripped into Uso but his cousin’s response was perfect too.

Clash of Champions should see a great battle between the family members but Reigns should come out on top.
