WWE SmackDown highlights, results and review: Bray Wyatt attacks Daniel Bryan while DX return

WWE presented SmackDown’s go-home edition for the 33rd annual Survivor Series and here are the highlights from an exciting show.

A backstage meeting comprising the SmackDown team members kicked the show off with Roman Reigns giving vocal tonic to the roster.

After this, the women’s division team captain Sasha Banks marched to the ring with teammates Lacey Evans, Carmella, Dana Brooke, and Nikki Cross.

They invited the Raw Women’s Team to the ring as Charlotte Flair came out with Sarah Logan, Natalya, and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Asuka and Kairi Sane.

Soon the NXT women’s team of Rhea Ripley, Toni Storm, Mia Yim, Candice LeRae and Tegan Nox arrived at the scene as Rhea proposed the opening contest featuring the three captains.

So Flair vs. Banks vs. Ripley took place on SmackDown. Flair was able to lock in the Figure-Eight on Banks but Ripley countered the submission move put on Banks into a cunning pinfall to steal the victory.


NXT stars on show too

Sami Zayn cut an annoying promo on SmackDown before NXT’s Undisputed Era – Roderick Strong, NXT Champion Adam Cole, and NXT Tag Team Champions Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish cut them off.

SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day and Heavy Machinery came out to start an eight-man tag team match.

Otis of Heavy Machinery was dominating the match after hitting a slam and his pendant Caterpillar on O’Reilly.

But Bobby Fish hit him with a kick to which Strong followed up with the Running Knee on Tucker to secure the win.

AJ Styles appeared out of nowhere after the match to start a brawl. However, The Undisputed Era used the number-games to gain an advantage and they beat down Styles as Nakamura and Zayn ran to the back.

The Fiend attacked Daniel Bryan, again!

Daniel Bryan cut a promo trying to summon The Fiend Bray Wyatt on SmackDown. The Miz instead appeared pointing how Bryan disrespected him, last week.

Miz slapped Bryan to the face to set up the next match on the show.

Daniel Bryan used the YES chants and kicks during this match to fire up the crowd.

He went for the Running Knee when the lights went out as we saw WWE Universal Champion The Fiend appearing in the corner. He applied the Mandible Claw on Bryan to DQ the match.


NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler was out next with a promo which was cut short by the SmackDown women’s champion, Bayley who tried to deliver a sneak attack.

Baszler countered with the Kirifuda Clutch but Bayley managed to escape the scene by launching Baszler throat-first into the top of the barrier.

The main event matchup of SmackDown had Mustafa Ali, Roman Reigns and Shorty G teaming up against King Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, and Robert Roode.

Chaos broke out around the ring where Ziggler neutralized Reigns with a Superkick. Corbin found Ali distracted with this and planted him with a Deep Six to get the pinfall win.

Corbin tried to deliver a post-match attack on Ali but Reigns caught him with a spear.

A bunch of Raw superstars arrived at the ring with Seth Rollins in the lead to ensure a brawl.

DX-style invasion on SmackDown

A group of NXT Superstars followed them as they entered with the infamous DX jeep where Hall of Famers, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Road Dogg were also present.

NXT stars joined them to create a bigger brawl. A confrontation between Braun Strowman and Keith Lee received the biggest pop of the night. The fight continued as the show went off the air.
