WWE Raw highlights, results and review: Seth Rollins loses his cool while Rey Mysterio picks up title
WWE Raw highlights, results and review: The post Survivor Series episode of RAW took place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois, last night where fallouts from the PPV were in-store.
Seth Rollins opened Raw in amidst thunderous boos reserved for him. He addressed the team for coming up short at Survivor Series.
Everyone standing at ringside went back to the locker room except for Kevin Owens. KO decided to deliver a Stunner on Rollins instead of answering to his former Team Captain.
Rusev and Lashley, again
The first match on Raw was Bobby Lashley vs. Titus O’Neil which led to a disqualification as Rusev attacked Lashley.
Rusev and Lashley brawled for sometime before the police arrive at the scene. The Bulgarian kicked over a taller structure that fell on Lashley to hurt him.
Lashley was taken to a medical facility.
The Authors of Pain defeated Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins in a short match on WWE RAW hitting big assisted double powerbomb in the middle of the ring.
Andrade defeated Akira Tozawa countering a top rope move and planting him with the Hammerlock DDT.
Buddy Murphy defeated Matt Hardy hitting three back to back knees to the face. After the match, Aleister Black came out to confront him and started a brawl.
Black landed a big knee on Murphy’s face to shove his rival out of the ring.
US title madness
A United States Title Match between Humberto Carrillo and AJ Styles was cancelled after Gallows and Anderson took out the challenger with a sudden attack.
Ricochet, Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre, and Rey Mysterio came out demanding to take Humberto’s spot.
A number one Contender’s Fatal 4 Way for the US title took place on where Ricochet, McIntyre, Orton, and Mysterio participated.
Orton hit McIntyre with an RKO but missed the pinfall attempt as The OCs pulled him out of the ring.
Mysterio converted a Moonsault attempt from Ricochet into a roll-up to pick up the win.
Mysterio lands title
AJ Styles vs. Rey Mysterio took place on WWE Raw for the US title. Gallows and Anderson interfered in the match leading Randy Orton to come back to the ring and neutralize them.
Mysterio countered a springboard attempt from AJ into a 619. Orton then delivered an RKO when the referee was down allowing Rey to land a Frogsplash.
Thus, Rey pinned AJ and become the new US Champion.
Big tag team match
One half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The Kabuki Warriors – Asuka competed against Charlotte Flair in a singles match.
Flair neutralized Sane hitting a massive spear but the distraction allowed Asuka to spread green mist all over Charlotte’s face and roll him up for the win.
Erick Rowan squashed Kyle Roberts with an Iron Claw Chokeslam.
The main event featured Rollins vs. Owens after what went down in the opening segment.
Owens hit a Stunner on Rollins but couldn’t get the pinfall as Authors of Pain leading to the disqualification.
As they went back to the locker room, Rollins turned heel by performing two Stomps on Owens. The crowd loudly booed him as the show went off the air.
