WWE NXT Results and Grades: NXT was a packed show this week with Halloween Havoc waiting in the wings and there was a shock return for Pat McAfee too.

Breezango were to defend their NXT tag team titles against the Undisputed Era and there were a few other quality matches too.

Kushida kicked off NXT
Kushida kicked off NXT in a triple threat match (WWE)

A triple threat match was the opener for this week’s WWE NXT and that is where this results and grades piece starts:

Velveteen Dream vs Kushida vs Tommaso Ciampa

Kushida was able to get Dream to tap outside the ring but the result had to take place inside of it..

The Japanese star was able to get the win after an impressive suplex at the end.

Kushida beats Dream and Ciampa

Grade A

This was a great opening to NXT with all three men doing their bit. It was a bit of a surprise seeing Kushida win but NXT seems to be pushing him a lot these days so the result made sense.

Ember Moon rising

Ember Moon vs Rhea Ripley was teased before she took on Jessi Kamea. Moon got the win via a submission before Dakota Kai attacked the former NXT champion.

Moon beats Kamea

Grade B

Moon vs Kai should be a great clash too but this was a different kind of performance from Moon as she used a lot of technical moves.

Theory gets trashed

Austin Theory took on Bronson Reed and was arrogant from the start. However, it was Reed who got the win.

Theory wasn’t happy and wanted a rematch but lost again in seconds. He then drove off and said he was done with NXT.

Reed beats Theory, twice

Grade C

It is difficult to understand what is going on with Theory and WWE. They used him on Raw and then sent him back to NXT and now this.

Reed has been pushed in recent weeks and he got two wins on one night.

Six-man tag

Jake Atlas, Ashante Adonis and Isaiah Scott teamed up to face Legado del Fantasma in a six-man tag match.

While the trio did well it was Fantasma that got the win at the end.

Fantasma beats Scott, Atlas and Adonis

Grade B

Fantasma again looked great as a team and it will be interesting to see who the next challenger for Escobar is for the Cruiserweight title.

Ever-Rise get the win

Drake Maverick and Killian Dain teamed up to face Ever-Rise after the pair taunted Maverick last week.

Rise taunted Maverick again and he hit them with the steel chair causing a DQ. Dain then congratulated him after showing a spark.

Ever-Rise beat Maverick and Dain

Grade C

There wasn’t much in this match but WWE progressed the story of Dain and Maverick.

It seems the big man is impressed with Maverick and it will be interesting to see how the pair work now.

Li attacks a pair

Xia Li was back in action and took on Kacy Catanzaro. The Chinese star was defeated by Catanzaro but she then attacked her rival and Kayden Carter.

However, Raquel Gonzalez the came out to attack the stars in the ring.

Catanzaro beats Li

Grade C

This was another match that didn’t help either star. Sure, Li is being projected as a heel but there are other ways to do this rather than make someone look bad in the ring.

Tag team title clash

Timothy Thatcher continued his submission segment and got a win over Anthony before the main event.

Bobby Fish and Roderick Strong of the Era were attacked and Kyle O’Reilly didn’t want to participate in place of them.

He then sent Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch to face Breezango.

The match saw Lorcan and Burch fight against the champs well and a mysterious figure also helped them get the win.

As the pair celebrated the titles, the figure revealed himself to be Pat McAfee as NXT ended with a shock.

Lorcan and Burch beat Breezango

Grade A

The match was a good affair between the trio but it was fun seeing McAfee return after his clash against Adam Cole.

This could be a sign that he was the one that attacked Cole too.
