WWE NXT preview: Lio Rush defends his title against Angel Garza too
WWE NXT preview: There is just one thing on everyone’s mind ahead of the upcoming NXT episode.
Who will be the contender for Adam Cole’s NXT championship?
Last week, we saw a crazy six-man tag team match with Keith Lee coming out on top and picking up the win.
That also saw Finn Balor interfere in the match and cause all sorts of havoc. The Prince first kicked Cole into the referee, then was attacked by Lee.
Tommaso Ciampa was also in the action while the Undisputed Era could not pick up the win.
William Regal came out to address the issue and set up a massive triple threat match to decide who will face Cole.
It’s going to be Lee vs Ciampa vs Balor, and that could be one of the fights of this year.
Yim takes on Kai
NXT WarGames had one shocking turn as Dakota Kai turned on her team. Mia Yim was also attacked before the clash and forced her to miss out on the PPV.
Last week, Kai was supposed to face Rhea Ripley but this was just an option for Yim to come out and attack the star.
This week, the two will be in action, once again, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top in this battle.
Cruiserweight title on the line
Angel Garza seems to be getting to the nerves of Lio Rush. The Cruiserweight champion was incensed when Garza taunted his family a few weeks ago.
They went at each other again at TakeOver WarGames, and the rivalry has simmered for a while now.
Both have been excellent in recent weeks and this should be an incredible match with a lot of high-flying spots.
Could we see Garza pick up the crown or will Rush continue his Cruiserweight reign on NXT?
Ripley update
While Ripley allowed Kai and Yim to slug it out last week, it wasn’t a great NXT for her.
Sure, she got a fight against the NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler for the 18 December episode.
However, that came at a huge price as Ripley was attacked by Baszler and two others. The champion also choked out her challenger with the Kirifuda Clutch.
Ripley suffered a strained vocal box, and it will be interesting to see what happens next in this intriguing rivalry between two of the best on NXT.
