The Undertaker to be inducted into the 2022 Hall of Fame

Vince McMahon gave an interview after a long time when he came as a guest on The Pat McAfee show

The WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon announced that he will be inducting the legendary Undertaker into the Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on April 1 during WrestleMania 38 weekend. The aforementioned ceremony will be held inside American Airlines Center in Dallas preceding the two-night WrestleMania event.

On February 18, it was revealed that The Undertaker would be the headlining induction of WWE Hall of Fame this year. WWE even contemplated the idea of ‘The Phenom’ being a solo inductee this year but it was scrapped later.

Vince McMahon heaped huge praise on The Undertaker

Mr. McMahon expressed his love for the man as well as the character. Mr. McMahon also lauded The Undertaker for his work ethic. He said:

“This will be one of the most difficult things I have ever done in my life ’cause I like the guy,” McMahon said of welcoming The Undertaker into the Hall of Fame. “I love the guy, not just like, I love the guy. We’ve known each for so many years and we’ve been through all kinds of situations, some that, glad didn’t make the newspapers and so forth but I mean, you know, when you live on the road like that, you have your family at home but when you live on the road, man, you have to have a family on the road and you have to have people you can count on, rely on, that are loyal and what have you, and trustworthy and not have to look over your shoulder and he’s that kind of guy.”

Mr. McMahon explained why it will be a difficult moment for him to induct The Undertaker into the Hall of Fame

Vince McMahon also shared a heart-warming message for his long-time friend:

“He’s an extraordinary human being as well as one of the premier, all-time greats in the ring,” he continued. “I could talk about the character and it won’t bother me at all but, in my mind, when I’m up there inducting him, I’m thinking about I know who he is and that’s tough when you know someone that close and you care about them so much. That’s going to be one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done.“

Pat McAfee earns a huge opportunity

Vince McMahon was all praise for Pat McAfee and lauded him for being himself while on commentary.

Vince McMahon is a hard taskmaster and it’s difficult to please him. But Pat McAfee though seems to have been in the good books of Mr. McMahon. The Chairman of WWE also offered him a match at WrestleMania.

Pat accepted the match in a jiffy. There were rumors of Vince being McAfee’s opponent at WrestleMania, but there were no indications of the same on the show. While McAfee’s opponent wasn’t revealed, it’s almost certain that Austin Theory would be slotted in.
