The Undertaker in an interview for WWE revealed his pick for what is being promoted by the company as “The Biggest WrestleMania Match of All-Time”.

The Undertaker has faced both the wrestlers at The Grandest Stage of Them All. There aren’t too many who would be a better bet than The Phenom to predict the outcome of this gigantic matchup.

The stakes are high as it is a title versus title, Championship Unification match. Roman is the current Universal champion while Brock is the WWE champion. This will be the eighth encounter involving both of them. The head-to-head is interestingly poised at 3-3 with one match being won by Seth Rollins when he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract at WrestleMania 31.

The Undertaker was asked about his pick and from his pause, it was evident that it was a tough call. The soon-to-be Hall of Famer reluctantly picked Roman Reigns as the winner. He was also quick to add that the result would be an upset.

It’s a good question, and it’s hard to call. I’m going to go out on a limb, I say, Roman, what possibly would be an upset.”

The Undertaker has only lost twice at ‘Mania and Brock and Roman were the opponents

The Undertaker had an incredible streak of 21 wins and 0 losses at WrestleMania. It was almost certain that the legendary Undertaker would someday lose the streak and pass the baton to someone who would be the future of the company.

Eventually, it was Brock Lesnar who would break the streak at WrestleMania 30. The fans all over the world were in shock after the Greatest Streak in Sports Entertainment was broken.

Paul Heyman said prior to that match:

“I think it’s more than special. I’m very blessed. I get the best seat in the house for the match that has the most historical significance and the longest-ranging ramifications in terms of what happens after the match is over. This is Brock Lesnar’s chance to truly step into immortality. From my perspective it’s a match that Brock Lesnar doesn’t have to win but that The Undertaker must not lose.”

The match was about the storytelling and how The Undertaker despite his best efforts would succumb in front of Brock’s sheer strength and athleticism. Fans were divided pondering whether Brock was the right guy as he was a part-timer. Brock still wrestles part-time but you have to credit him for the physical shape he maintains. The match was beautifully planned out and executed.

The Big Dog conquers the yard

Roman Reigns did what only Brock Lesnar could at WrestleMania and that was to beat The Undertaker. The Phenom recovered from his loss against Brock at WrestleMania 30 and beat Bray Wyatt and Shane McMahon in the next two respective editions of WWE’s biggest event of the year.

At WrestleMania 33, The Reaper faced The Big Dog Roman Reigns. Reigns was always backed by WWE as one for the future. Beating ‘Taker at WrestleMania did a world of good to his stakes in the company.

In an interview in 2020 with ESPN for his documentary titled “Undertaker: The Last Ride,” Undertaker opened up on his thoughts about the match. He said, “That was the first time that I watched that match back. I was so disgusted with it that I didn’t want to watch it back.

As I got older… I know when I’m out there, and I’m moving slow. I know when my limp is more prominent than it may be. Or when I’m behind in a spot. I just know now. I’m battling with it. I was so disappointed for Roman.“, Taker said.

The Undertaker lost the match after Roman delivered a spear on him. The Minister of Darkness took off his hat, trench coat and gloves and left all three in the center of the ring after the match. Roman’s legacy was established and ‘Taker deserves a lot of credit for that.
