Rob Van Dam was part of the 2021 WWE Hall of Fame and Stone Cold Steve Austin had a special message for the legend
The WWE Hall of Fame induction for 2020 and 2021 was held recently, and even though there were no fans in the arena, it still was a special moment.
Rob Van Dam was one of the top names inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, and the former ECW and WWE Champion had a lot to say about it.
The 50-year-old remains one of the most laid-back individuals outside of the ring, and he recently spoke to Vic Joseph and Corey Graves.
RVD was on the After the Bell podcast and he shared a lot of life lessons. The former WWE star was asked how it felt to be in the Hall of Fame, and how people are reaching out to him.
“They are still doing it [reaching out], which is amazing.
“Friends from the past that I haven’t heard of in a long time and of course, everybody that I went to school with, they are telling me how proud they are of me”, replied the WWE Hall of Famer.
However, there was also a special message from another legend in Stone Cold Steve Austin. Austin and RVD had a few clashes in the past and The Texas Rattlesnake had his own take regarding the HOF induction:
“I didn’t expect to get a message from Stone Cold Steve Austin.
“He said something like, ‘Congratulations! You deserve it you stiff son of a b****.’”
Rob Van Dam wants another ECW star inducted into WWE Hall of Fame
While RVD was taking things as they came, he also wanted Sabu to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Sabu is a legend in the ECW business and while he didn’t speak much, he was one of the most dangerous stars in the business.
RVD added that Sabu should have been inducted into the HOF before him. The 50-year-old also went on to say that Sabu was his mentor and coach but some individual decisions lead to certain outcomes.
Sabu is a legend in the wrestling business and it will be interesting to see if he is inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
The 56-year-old had a couple of stints in WWE but he will always remembered for his ECW groundwork.
