Lana suffered an “injury” on this week’s WWE Monday Night RAW

This week’s WWE Raw saw Lana getting injured after securing an unlikely win over Women’s Tag Team Champion Nia Jax.

Lana was looking down and out when Jax had her on the turnbuckle for the Samoan drop. However, ‘The Ice Queen’ showed quick thinking to reverse the move and pin Jax to secure a win within 2 minutes of the match.

WWE played an injury angle here when both Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler violently beat Lana after her victory.

The promotion stated that Lana had suffered “devastating injuries to her elbow and leg” after the attack from Jax and Shayna.

Now, PWInsider have reported that she may face a lengthy time out. The word coming out of WWE RAW is that Lana will be off the TV screens for 3-4 weeks.

What the injury to Lana means for WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship

Lana was scheduled to partner Asuka for the Women’s Tag Team Championship at TLC 2020. However, her injury means that Asuka will have to look for a new partner to fight against Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler.

Lana being reportedly out for up to 1 month definitely rules her out of being at TLC. It will be interesting to see what WWE decide to do her.

Lana’s kayfabe injury has opened up multiple possibilities. Asuka could partner up with on Dana Brooke or the returning Mandy Rose.

She could also give up her title shot to the aforementioned duo, or, she could partner up with Charlotte Flair, who is rumoured to return to WWE soon.

Flair has been out of action for over 6 months after undergoing cosmetic surgery. However, a return in time for the WrestleMania 37 season has looked likely for her.

She could very well be the one who partners the Japanese superstar at the pay-per-view event later this month.
