WWE Superstar Sonya Deville waiting for in-ring return after lengthy absence

Sonya Deville made her return after last appearing at WWE Summerslam 2020 where she lost the “loser leaves WWE” match to rival Mandy Rose. This was after Deville was dealing with a court case of her alleged stalker.

Deville was scheduled to make her in-ring return around WrestleMania 37 after appearing in an executive role in early 2021. According to Ringsidenews, “it keeps getting pushed another week, another two weeks, another week, another two weeks.”

Deville, however, is an important executive authority with Adam Pearce on WWE SmackDown. She is expected to make her wrestling return on the blue brand. She has been appearing behind the scenes while preparing for her in-ring return.

Deville has been on the RAW and SmackDown brands after an impressive showing on NXT. She teamed up with Mandy Rose and Paige in 2017 to form ‘Absolution’. After Paige’s abrupt retirement, Deville and Rose formed “Fire and Desire.” The friends then turned rivals after a bitter fallout with a heavy stipulation match at SummerSlam 2020.

It will be interesting to see what kind of storyline WWE put Deville in. She was in great form on the microphone before the stalker incident and has been incredible in her new WWE role too.

Deville’s horrifying incident with her alleged ‘stalker’

A man tried to kidnap Deville in 2020 with a knife and mace inside her house. Named, Phillip Thomas, he was stalking her for years and plotted to kidnap her before being arrested.

He is jailed on charges of armed kidnapping, aggravated stalking and armed burglary of a dwelling and criminal misdemeanor.

She took time off the incident after losing the ‘loser leaves WWE’ match against Mandy Rose. Her return in early 2021 indicates that she has put this incident behind her. The WWE Universe will be eagerly waiting for her wrestling return soon.
