Shinsuke Nakamura has one Vince McMahon talent missing from becoming top WWE star claims Bully Ray

Shinsuke Nakamura excelled on last week’s WWE SmackDown but that won’t be enough to get Vince McMahon on his side

One of the major surprise from last week’s WWE SmackDown, apart from Adam Pearce winning the gauntlet match, was the performance of Shinsuke Nakamura.

The former NXT Champion had been in the doldrums alongside Cesaro on SmackDown and had become a bit of a tag team expert.

However, he eliminated Daniel Bryan, Baron Corbin and Rey Mysterio before facing Pearce in the gauntlet match.

That performance saw many believe he could get a title shot in the future but Dave LaGreca and Bully Ray poured cold water over that. They were speaking on the Busted Open podcast and had a lot to say about Nakamura.

LaGreca brought up how the segment went with Nakamura not putting up a huge fight against Roman Reigns and Uso.

That story became all about Pearce, Reigns and Uso. Ray, for his part, brought up the history of Nakamura as he headlined many Japanese shows.

However, there is one problem in Nakamura that seems to be stopping him from being the big name in WWE, his talking skills:

“He checks every box in the WWE. The box that he doesn’t check is probably the most important one for Vince McMahon though, can’t talk.”

Nakamura speaks broken English, and although he has improved that, it still is a problem for him it seems.

LaGreca also brought up the possibility of shifting Nakamura to NXT if WWE wasn’t going to use him on the main roster well.

Not going to win the title either

LaGreca also opened up on how Nakamura was not going to win the top titles at the moment. The WWE and Universal titles have top stars wearing the belts and Nakamura had no chance of getting them:

“I am sorry, it is not going to happen on the main roster. If you look at the wrestlers right now holding on to the titles, Drew McIntyre on Raw and Roman Reigns on SmackDown, those are custom made world champions for Vince McMahon’s WWE.”

LaGreca brought up how the pair had the size and qualities that McMahon saw in a WWE champion. The Busted Open podcast host also claimed there was no chance of Nakamura featuring in a main event.

“Best thing for him as Bully said, bring him to NXT, put him on NXT.”
