Over the weekend, speculations began to spread all over social media due to false reports. According to the inaccurate reports, Benjamin was the latest addition to the long list of talented superstars who have been released by WWE.

Benjamin took to Twitter and cleared the air regarding his status in the company. He wrote:

“I have not been released from WWE. I obviously don’t know where this false report started (probably
@MiaYim) but for those that cared thank you but at this time your concerns are premature.

The Gold Standard jokingly blamed his close friend Mia Yim for being the source of the rumor mill.

Shelton Benjamin’s achievements in WWE

Shelton is a former one-time United States Champion and a three-time Intercontinental champion. He has also the Tag Team Championship on three different occasions (twice with Charlie Haas and once with Cedric Alexander)

Shelton also won the WWE 24/7 Championship three times and he also shared the Slammy Award as part of The Hurt Business with Lacey Evans for “Trash Talker of the Year”.

The former MWF Heavyweight Champion hasn’t won a World title in WWE. Benjamin hasn’t had too many shots at the titles too. Fans have always appreciated the 46-year-old for his strength and agility. However, they have expressed their displeasure at WWE underutilizing him and keeping him on the lower mid-card for far too long.
