Reason why Omos and AJ Styles have been missing since WrestleMania 37

Sean Ross Sapp has shed some light on why Omos and AJ Styles have been missing from the screens since their huge win at WWE WrestleMania 37.

Styles and Omos teamed up for the first-time ever on screen to defeat the New Day and claim the WWE Raw Tag Team championships. It was a huge win that made Omos look like an unstoppable monster in his first-ever televised match.

However, ever since their triumph at the Grandest Stage of All, both Omos and Styles have not made a single appearance on television.

Indeed, the current WWE Raw Tag Team Champions have not featured on any of the three episodes that have aired post WrestleMania. And WWE have given little in the way of explanation over their absence.

Reason why Omos and AJ Styles are missing

Thankfully for us, Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp (h/t Bleacher Report), has now provided the reason behind Omos and Styles’ sudden disappearance from the screen following their huge title win.

As per the report, Omos and Styles have been missing because “at least one of the two wasn’t cleared” for action. Be that as it may, WWE could have done a better job of addressing the issue, rather than hardly mentioning the Raw Tag Team Champions for three weeks in a row.

It’s not as if they have not done it before. WWE used Zoom calls and pre-recorded promos effectively last year as the pandemic wreaked havoc. Such tools were used during the buildup to Drew McIntyre’s WWE Championship bout against Goldberg ahead of the Royal Rumble as well.

But, absolutely no efforts were made to address the whereabouts of Omos and Styles, up until this past Tuesday when the duo appeared on The Bump and claimed that they had been “partying in Nigeria”.

The Raw Tag Team Champions also confirmed that they will return on the next week’s episode. It will be interesting to see if the New Day get a rematch for the tag team gold or new challengers emerge for Styles and Omos.
